Delete your RevSphere account
Last updated 28 August 2026
RevSphere is operated by WINSOR UK LIMITED. This page explains how to delete your RevSphere account and the data associated with it, what is removed, what is kept, and how long it takes. It applies to the RevSphere website and the RevSphere mobile app, which share one account.
How to request deletion
Sign in to your account, open Security, and use “Delete my account” in the “Your data” section. Because this is a sensitive action you will be asked to sign in again if your session is not recent, and to confirm a second time before anything is scheduled.
If you cannot sign in — you have lost access to the mailbox, or the account is locked — email support@revsphere.uk from any address and describe the account. We will verify that the account is yours before acting on the request, and we will not delete an account on the strength of an unverified email alone.
Download your data first
Deletion cannot be undone once it has started. On the same Security screen you can request a copy of your account, profile, settings and course records, and download it before you delete. The download link is available for 24 hours after it is ready.
The 14-day grace period
A deletion request does not take effect immediately. Your account enters a 14-day grace period, during which you can cancel it yourself from the same Security screen and nothing is removed. After the grace period your request is actioned by our team rather than by an automatic timer, so it is carried out shortly after the fortnight ends rather than at the instant it expires. When it is actioned, your sessions are signed out on every device and the removal below is carried out. Write to support@revsphere.uk if you want the request confirmed, or actioned sooner.
What is removed
Your public researcher profile and profile photo are deleted. Your email address, language, timezone, theme and notification preferences are erased from your account record. Your sessions are revoked and any pending invitation addressed to you stops working. Your usernames are released, and held unassigned for 90 days so that nobody can immediately take your identity. Your course playback sessions and quiz attempts, your personally generated review artefacts and your personal report bundles are deleted outright, not anonymised. Each of these steps is recorded, including any that could not be completed, so if you ask us whether something remains we can answer from the record rather than from assumption.
What is kept, and why
Shared research records are not deleted. Screening decisions, extractions, risk-of-bias assessments, analyses, study identity history and editorial decisions are the scientific provenance of projects that other people also rely on; deleting them would rewrite a shared evidence trail. These records are kept with your name replaced by a stable pseudonym, so the history stays reconstructible without identifying you. Certificates you were awarded are preserved so they remain verifiable, with the name on them replaced and public display switched off. Security and audit events, and any record we are required by law to retain, are kept for their retention period.
When deletion cannot proceed yet
Deletion is refused, with an explanation, while you are the only owner of a project, the only creator of a course, or the last remaining platform administrator. We will not transfer, archive or delete other people’s work on your behalf. Hand the project or course to a colleague, or archive it, and the request will then proceed. A deletion can also be paused where a legal or research hold applies; if that happens you will be told.
Deleting the app is not deleting the account
Uninstalling the RevSphere mobile app removes it from your device but does not delete your account or your data. Use the steps above.
